Best Practice on Circular Economy in Cities with Global Green Growth Institute

Seoul, 2 June 2023 - Sweden+Korea Green Transition Alliance and Global Green Growth Institute organized the first in a series of knowledge-sharing seminars. This session was specifically centered around "Circular Economy in Cities," wherein shared exemplary models and valuable insights from Sweden, Korea, and GGGI while exploring opportunities for collaboration.

Stockholm Environment Institute, City of Gothenburg shared the circular solutions in cities in Sweden, and the alliance member companies, Atlas Copco and IKEA shared their effort and experiences to cultivate a circular economy into the people’s daily life and support their business sustainable. GGGI stressed the importance of international green partnerships to strengthen the circular economy.

These forward-thinking circular economy policies pursued by Sweden, and South Korea aim to bring about fundamental upstream changes and foster the competitive trade of circular products within the market.

The seminar presented an opportunity for the government and circular city solution providers to have an open and honest dialogue about the challenges and needs of businesses to support and increase investment in green growth, green jobs, and environmental quality.

The alliance will continue its active collaboration with relevant Korean partners to support South Korea’s green transition.
